Folk Dance

Folk is the soul of our country's ancient tradition from the drama performers at the Mughal courts to modern day artisans who resonate in our hearts. Wud invites you to dance your heart out to the beats of your culture.

Event Type: Group Dance  Competition

Team Size: Minimum 4 members

Rules & Regulations

  • Team Members: Minimum: 8, Maximum: 15   (+INR 50/- for each person who is extra)        (Total team members should not be more than 20)

  • Participants must perform on authentic folk music.

  • No Bollywood numbers would be allowed.

  • Use of fire or weapons is restricted.

  • Time limit: 6-10 minutes.

  • No live musicians.

JUDGING CRITERIA - Costume, Choice of Music, Choreography and Overall Presentation.

Spotlight

Spotlight is a solo musical competition which is held under CULT (college fest of World University of Design). One participant can sing and also play instrument along with it and cherish the crowd with his melodious and sweet voice. This competition is to create a mellifluous vibe in the environment and create smile on faces. Sole purpose is to embrace the enthusiasm in crowd and spectator.

Registration Fee:  INR 200/- per person

Event Type: Solo Singing Competition

Rules & Regulations

  • Performance time limit: 2-5 Minutes.

  • Avoid using indecent words.

  • 1 minute would be given for sound check.

  • Participants can choose songs from any language.

  • Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

  • No restrictions on the choice of songs.

  • You will be allowed to be accompanied by one instrumentalist.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

Vocals (50%)

  • Technique: Tone Quality, Breath Control, Pitch Control, Diction and Clarity, Dynamics, Vocal Modulation.

  • Rhythm and Tempo: Voice in relation to the music.

Expression (30%)

  • Performance: how well the meaning or the emotions within the songs are portrayed.

  • Coordination and connection between the singer and the accompanist.

Showmanship (20%)

  • Stage Presence: Interaction with the crowd, crowd control, connecting with the crowd.

  • Overall crowd and judge's response to the performance.

Sync and Sing

SYNC-N-SING is a duet musical event that is a part of CULT (an auspicious event held by World University of Design). In this event two singers along with 1 instrument player (optional) from different institutions, participate and compete against each other under the surveillance of esteemed judges to find out who’s melodious, creative and mashup skills are on top of the world. Besides the competition part, we hope that all of us, whether it be the performers or the audience will have a lot of fun and will learn new things at the end of the day.

Registration Fee:  INR 400/- per duet

Event Type: Duet Singing Competition (OFFLINE)

Rules & Regulations

  • Performance time limit: 3-5 Minutes.

Conjunto Pie

Gear up, tune your guitars, check your drums, scale your piano because it’s time for Conjunto Pie (ground breaking, earth shattering musical band battle event that is a part of CULT. So to all the participants-Gear up, do your best and give us all a fantabulous show, and to all the audience, "sit back and enjoy the flashy performance that will surely make your hearts vibrate with pure joy”.

Registration Fee:  INR 600/- per entry

Event Type: Band Competition (OFFLINE)

Rules & Regulations

  • Performance time limit: 5-8 Minutes.

  • Avoid using indecent words.

  • Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

  • Member Limit: 5-15 (Including Singers and Instrumentalists)

  • Minimal Restrictions in usage of indecent words.

  • 10 Minutes would be given for Sound Check/ Stage Setup.

  • Participants can choose songs from any language.

  • No pre-recorded compositions are allowed to play. (i.e. rhythm in keyboard)

  • No restrictions on the choice of songs/ original compositions.

  • Only Drums would be provided by the college.
     

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Originality (40%)

  • Even if the song is a cover, the ability of the band/group to own the song and compose it to their style would be observed.

  • No negative marking for staying true to the original song.


Expression (30%)

  • Performance: How well the meaning or the emotions within the songs are portrayed.

  • Coordination and connection between the members.


Showmanship (20%)

  • Stage Presence: Interaction with the crowd, crowd control, connecting with the crowd.

  • Overall crowd and judge's response to the performance.


Planning and preparedness (10%)

  • Did the group tune the instruments prior to performing,

  • Did they begin the performance on time and end it within the given timeframe. Evidence of rehearsal (lyrics learnt, pitch and melody on track)

Bigul (Nukkad Natak)

Street play is a way of voicing one opinion freely in one space and enacting socially relevant topics to spur the public toward a bigger and a positive change. BIGUL same as the instrument bugle is loud and clear creating a vibe that changes the vibrations in that space. 

Hence, Pratidhwani (the dramatic club of the World University of Design) brings to you that golden ticket to transform the world into a stage and create magic!

Registration Fee:  INR 500/- per entry

Event Type: Nukkad Natak

Rules & Regulations

  • Number of Participants: Minimum: 5, Maximum: 40

  • Teams are expected to perform at an open-air venue, on a stage. The audience can be on all the sides or facing one side only.

  • The team shall consist of Max 15 people and minimum of 5 people. Excluding 2 instrumentalist. (optional)

  • Timeline shall be 20 min. In case of violation of time limit, participants would be penalized by the judges.

  • The time duration will include performance time and stage setting time. The given time duration is from empty stage to empty stage.

  • Usage of Fire and Smoke is not allowed.

  • Gulaal or any props if used must be cleared off by the participants in the given duration.

  • Only live music is allowed. Teams will have to bring their own instruments.

  • It is mandatory for all the member of the teams to carry a valid identity card issued by their institution.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

  • Content, Theme and Message: 40%

  • Performance including acting, Dialogues and Expressions: 25%

  • Interaction with audience and improvisation: 20%

  • Directions, Gimmicks and Effects: 15%

Act To

ACT TO is a collaborative form of performing art, a platform where performers can enact the experience of a real or imaginary event in front of an audience in a  specific place. The way of communication maybe through gestures, speech, song, music and dance or any other form of expression. Finally Moving on from the corona phase let us have a fresh start altogether under one sky. So, Lets gear up for CULT 2022.

Registration Fee:  INR 200/- per entry

Event Type: Solo Duo Trio Act

Rules & Regulations

  • Number of Participants: Min:1, Max:3

  • Performance should be a non-verbal/ Verbal act.

  • Time limit is: 15 minutes.

  • This is an individual, Duo or Trio event.

  • Instrumental music can be used in the background.

  • Music cannot be vocal.

  • The performance can take place either in an open or a closed space.

  • Use of Props is allowed. But participants must arrange their own props.

  • Use of Fire, Smoke or water is not allowed.

  • Total time duration is from empty stage to empty stage. The time includes your performance time as well as stage setting time.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

  • Script Selection: 30%

  • Dialogues, Expressions and Body language: 40%

  • Prop usage and Stage presence: 15%

  • Directions, Gimmicks and Effects: 15%

Rangshala

Mural painting is a long standing traditional at CULT. Every nook and corner of the campus is decorated with these beautiful motifs.

Registration Fee:  INR 100/- (+ INR 500/- if accommodation is required)

Event Type: Wall Painting Inter-College Competition (SOLO/GROUP)

Rules & Regulations

  • Theme will be provided on the spot.

  • 6 hours for each team. Basic Material will be provided by the university (World University of Design)

  • No. of team members: Minimum 5

  • No entry fees for the participants.

  • You can make entries in teams as well as individuals.

  • No sexuality or any kind nudity should be promoted through any artwork.

  • You can bring your own tools and colors.

  • Size - 1500 sq.ft

Within the Frame (Photography)

Photography for us is not looking, its a feeling. Its an art of observation. To express art capture the moment through your create frame. Within the frames gives you opportunity to embrace your inner photographer. Time to compose and snap your creativity for the amazing event. No need to have professional camera to enter the competition, mobile photographers are welcome too.

  • The participants/team needs to present their submission at the allotted time. Though it is essential to send the submissions to CULT Photography team online.

Theme: Imaginative Fashion Photography / Imaginative Photography | Offline event (WUD campus) 11th November, 2022
The competition is open for all students who are part of any University/ Institute/ College. It is also preferred that the participant register from their official email address.

  • Technical requirements for submission: File size: Maximum 5MB, File type: jpg/JPEG, Aspect ratio 4:5 (1080 X 1350px)

  • Participant can use a DSLR or phone camera for given theme to be capture.

  • Simple lighting and contrast adjustment are allowed. Digitally composed or edited images will be disqualified.

  • Submission should have accurate caption.

  • Though we respect creativity and using various manners for its expression, terms are expected to conform to a degree of decent depiction and obscenity will not be condoned.

  • The participants/team needs to present their submission at the allotted time. Though it is essential to send the submissions to CULT Photography team online.

Silver Screen (Short Film)

In today’s world there are many problems that affect many people within a society, which are usually a group of common problems in present-day society and one’s that many people strive to solve usually which cannot be controlled individually, known by the name “Social Issues” like danger, bullying, gender inequality, illiteracy, child abuse, poverty, hunger, racism, male/female abuse, LGBTQ rights, etc., which act as hinderance in the way of our country’s development. The film competition includes making of a short fiction/ documentary/ docu-drama which addresses any one social issue like the ones mentioned above. The film should be centered around establishing the core issue which can be achieved via screenplay, direction, lighting or art direction. The film can be of any genre or theme including drama, horror, romance, video essay, documentary, etc. as long as it brings out the particular emotion/issue.

Registration Fee:  INR 200/- per entry

Event Type: Short Film

Rules & Regulations

  • The competition is open for all students who are part of any University/Institute/College. It is also preferred that the participants register from their official email address.

  • Film should be submitted in MP4 or MOV format (250 MB max), landscape format in 720p (SD format) or 1080p (HD format).

  • It can be black and white, color or with any other special color treatment.

  • The content should be original and should be shot specifically for CULT 2022.

  • The film can be shot using any camera. (Mobile phone, DSLR or professional camera.)

  • The film can be in any language but if it is in any other language other than Hindi or English then it should have subtitles.

  • Team size : 1-4 members , Time limit: 2-5 minutes.

  • Though we respect creativity and using various manners for its expression, teams are expected to conform to a degree of decent depiction and obscenity will not be condoned.

  • The participants/team need to present their submission at the allotted time. Though it is essential to send the submissions to the CULT team, to avoid any technical errors. (Google meet link, time and drive link will be intimated after successful registration)


JUDGEMENT CRITERIA:  Screenplay, Direction, Cinematography, Dialogue, Editing and Sound design.

  • The decision of the jury will be final and no complaints pertaining to the final judgement will be entertained.

Valorant

Online 5v5 FPS tournament where teams strategize and aim to win against each other in objective-based game modes. First team to score 13 rounds wins and other gets eliminated.

Registration Fee:  INR 750/- per team collectively submitted by team captain

Event Type: Team Competition (ONLINE)

Rules & Regulations

  • Competition mode is online and students can participate from any university/college.

  • Participants need to be present at the allotted time otherwise team will be disqualified. Only 5 minutes will be given to join the lobby.

  • Matches will be played in single elimination knockout rounds, semifinals and finals will be played in best of three rounds.

  • There will be no draw matches, matches will keep on going until a team wins.

  • Maps will be decided randomly.

  • Any third party software is strictly prohibited, if found whole team will be disqualified.

  • Teams should decide one captain/leader among themselves and have to come up with a team name to be recognizable at the time of registration.

  • Only one captain of the team should register their whole team details on forms.

  • It will be 5 days event, semifinals and finals will be played on the official dates of the CULT'22.

CALL OF DUTY (MOBILE)

It's an online Battle Royale tournament where 100 players fight against each other to get that victory and ultimately claim the prizes!

Registration Fee - INR 250/- per person

Event Type: Solo Battle Royale (ONLINE)

Rules & Regulations

  • Competition mode is online and students can participate from any university/college.

  • Participants/teams need to be present at the allotted time, otherwise will be disqualified.

  • Matches will be played in single elimination knockout rounds. Semi-finals and finals will be played in best of three rounds.

  • The matches will be played on the Isolated map only.

  • Any form of cheating, using a glitch, abusing in-game mechanics or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in a forfeit of a game, match or ban from the tournament.

  • Players who move their character outside the normal boundaries of a map may forfeit the game. It includes but is not limited to part of the character's body passing through what should be a non-permeable surface or object and moving into any area from which your character register shots on an opponent who is not able to register shots on your character.

  • Teaming-up with other players rather than your own team will result in disqualification form the tournament.

WWE (One-on-One)

One on one offline tournament where players get in the arena, show their skills, compete and win against each other with iconic characters of WWE 2K22 of their choice for prize pool and fame. PIN and WIN!

Registration Fee:  INR 150/- per person

Event Type: Solo One-on-One Competition (OFFLINE)

Rules & Regulations

  • Competition mode is offline and will happen on WUD campus for all students who are part of any university/college.

  • Participants need to be present at the allotted time otherwise the participant will be disqualified.

  • Matches will be played in royal rumble mode, semifinals and finals will be played in best of three rounds one on one mode.

  • Arena will be decided randomly.

  • Players have to bring their own controllers, systems will be provided by WUD only.

  • Matches will be held in WUD Campus only.

  • Any misbehavior will be strictly handled.

Fashion Show

Fashion being an impressive way of self expression, has given people that creative freedom to represent themselves artistically and to elevate that, we bring to you CULT 2022, an amazing opportunity to showcase your collections on the stage through a walk. Keeping in mind, less is more through the sense of sustainability, We invite all the fashionistas and fashion gurus to come ahead, be creative and present us your amazing collections.

Registration Fee:  INR 1000/- per group

Event Type: Group Competition 

Rules & Regulations

  • One entry per college.

  • Time limit for each team would be 10-15 minutes.

  • Green rooms will be provided for changing purpose.

  • Should carry the track in pen drive.

  • Teams will be judged on Costumes, Theme & Attitude.

  • Any kind of misbehave can lead to disqualification of the team.

  • Teams have to bring their own props.

  • Decision of the judges will be final.

Fashion Film

It's an exciting time for fashion films as brands, designers and fashion professionals are composing new and innovative approaches to the traditional catwalk presentation to showcase the latest collections or concepts. The format of the fashion film has provided an alternate strategy for designers to artfully present their collections safely and effectively. In the same spirit instead of the long-running fashion design competition, in CULT 2022 we bring you the fashion film competition. We are inviting creative talents to submit fashion films that are based upon an interesting concept, are innovative, well crafted, and create an engaging virtual experience. The film could be a fusion of the work of creative individuals from different disciplines like fashion/art/design/journalism or anyone who has a flair for storytelling on fashion. Other than that, the possible form of your film can be very open.

Event Type: Group Competition 

Rules & Regulations

  • The competition is open for all students who are part of any University/Institute/College. It is also preferred that the participants register from their official email address.

  • You could use: any form of storytelling format, any art forms, fashion illustrations /sketches/ doodles, videos/audios, motion graphics/stop motion, origami/kirigami/paper art.

  • The total runtime of the video entry, including opening and closing credits, should strictly be between 3 - 8 minutes.

  • The video entry must be in landscape mode MP4 format (720p) with a maximum file size of 1GB.

  • Though we respect creativity and using various manners for its expression, teams are expected to conform to a degree of decent depiction and obscenity will not be condoned.

  • The participants/team need to present their submission at the allotted time.

Badminton

  • All players must be bonafide with the university they are representing. (Age up to 28)

  • Compulsory to wear shoes and sports attire.

  • Players are requested to not wear any kind of jewelry.

  • Team events jersey is compulsory.

  • In case of conflict, decision made by host will be final.

  • Hosting committee can cancel any event in case of lesser participation or even reduce/increase winning sum based on participation.
